Kinds Of Bible Verses Regarding Anxiety

By Wanda Vaughn

There are many Bible verses on anxiety. One might ask why this is the case. The answer to that question will have as many answers as there are people asking the question. This compilation of books is viewed by many as a document of absolute Truth passed to humanity by their God, by others simply as a man-made series of writings to live by, and still others as simply interesting reading.

As the Bible came into existence the written word began to take the place of the teacher. No longer was a human speaking to an individual or group the only way to convey a message. Once the words began to be written down the content could be understood by larger and larger numbers of humans.

The Bible is one of those written references that has been published and distributed to millions of people around the world over the centuries. Its influence has been enormous. Over time societies and religions have used it as explanations why government policies have been implemented or why exploration of distant lands were carried out or for inspiration and guidance for daily life. One example of a search for relief of life's troubles is the issue of anxiety.

Just about any phrase or sentence can be taken from the Bible and referred to as a lesson about life. The issue of dealing with anxiousness is addressed often in the Book. The idea of the birds being provided food and water without them worrying about how it is provided is used as an example of how God provides for all. The lesson is that if even the birds are provided for people should not allow undue anxiety to plague them. To trust that they would ultimately be taken care of by a higher source is the lesson in this case.

Verses about anxiety refer to the simplicity of how a simple, cheerful word can raise the spirits of a person. For someone whose life seems to be filled with anxiety or is experiencing anxious times Bible verses may provide just the right amount of relief. Sometimes the simplest of solutions is the most powerful.

Other verses recommend that a person place their anxiety and troubles in the hands of God. This is recommended in the hope that eventually they will find relief. It is the idea that by transferring their troubles to a force stronger than they are they will be healed.

One theme that is often repeated in the Bible is that of trust, trusting that even if a person may not know what is troubling them. If they pray to the Holy Spirit eventually the Holy Spirit will intercede for them. Believers are steadfast in the hope that the Spirit knows better than they what is troubling them.

The causes of stress and fear in a person's life can come from many directions. Sometimes it is clear what is causing stress. Sometimes a person has no idea what is causing it but they know they are experiencing it. The Bible makes many references to turning over the issues or problems to God that are causing anxiety. It is a form of transferring the responsibility to a higher source. This can allow the person to move back into continuing with their daily life believing a power greater than they is provided by using Bible verses on anxiety.
